ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
v NATIONAL LEVEL :- The Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India decides the policy and programme guidelines for the scheme. The department of NSS has the administrative responsibility for the scheme. There is a programme of establishing liaison with the state government, universities and organizations which directly or indirectly assist the programme.
v REGIONAL LEVEL:- A Regional Office has been set up to facilitate the implementation of the programme in the region.
v STATE LEVEL:- The following organizational arrangements are envisaged at the state level:
v State Advisory Committee:-2. State NSS Cell: It is headed by the State Liaison Officer. The Government of India extends cent per cent financial assistance for the cell.
v UNIVERSITY LEVEL:- 1. University NSS Advisory Committee 2. University NSS Cell The Programme Coordinator is responsible for the execution of all instructions received Tom the central/state governments and the decisions at the state level and of the University Advisory Committee relating to the NSS. He would also ensure timely release of grants to the colleges, selection of programme officers, submission of accounts and reports to the government, assist and guide NSS units in the formulation of useful and innovative projects and publication of NSS bulletins. v COLLEGE LEVEL:- Implementation of the NSS at the college level involves active participation of the principal, the college advisory committee for NSS, programme officers, community leaders, government, non-government agencies/departments, local institutions and other beneficiaries.
